Calling would-be starship pilots, hyperstatial engineers and all-round troubleshooters: I was thinking of running the classic science-fiction RPG « Traveller ». First edition rules; perhaps incorporating the Mongoose edition for space combat.

I have 15mm figures and I’m not afraid to use them.

:good:

@julysv: I’m not sure when I’ll be running Traveller yet; I just wanted to find out how many people are interested. When would be a good day for you?

Mondays are usually ok, but not before mid November / December

    Hi there.
I’d love to do it … on weekends only though.

So Nofare can only do weekends and Julie can only do Mondays? That could be a problem.

Il va falloir attendre d’avoir plus de joueurs interesses, et du coup, attendre que les notifications fonctionnent a nouveau…
Ou bien de le faire en convention :bye:

I would prefer to run games at conventions that are specifically designed to be one-shots. Hence my Cthulhu by Gaslight game. I do have a couple of Traveller scenarios that are designed to be played one-shot at conventions, but to get the most out of Traveller you really need to play it as a campaign.

I could probably run a Traveller scenario at a mini-con. Probably one of the short scenarios published in the « Double Adventures ». The game would either be ship-based or planet-based. I don’t think there would be time to do both.

Another option would be one of the tongue-in-cheek scenarios published by British Isles Traveller Support: « Star Worn » is a « Star Wars » parody; « White Dwarf » is a « Red Dwarf » parody. Unfortunately they were both written for the 4th edition rules.

Then there is « Delta 3 Is Down » in which a crew of Zhodani crash-land their ship in Imperium space and have to get back home. The Imperials assume that all Zhodani are psionic; the Zhodani assume that all Imperials are criminals.

Again, I’d be happy to try a Traveller one-shot, if only to get a taste of the system. And, at this point, something taking place on a ship would be my go-to option (just to do something in spaaaaace)

@nofare: And I would be willing to run it. There are a couple of short « Double Adventures », e.g. Death Station that are set in Space.

It looks like the first mini-con at which I would be able to run Traveller is June next year. If anyone wants to play before then, let me know.
